About the band
In 1997, Monty started Flashback - which became one of the premier party bands in the Carolinas! Dwane, Reggie and Dave were members of that band, and contributed greatly to the success Flashback experienced. In August, 2022, the four decided to start a local band that would focus booking in the Charlotte area. It would still be a band that would continue the tradition of energetic, dance floor filling performances that made Flashback so popular. This new band is "Uptown LA Brown!"
The band features three very entertaining lead vocalists - "Motown" Reggie brown, "L.A." Lauren Ashley Kogas, and "UpTown" Dwane Abney. The rhythm section is held down by Dave Starr on drums, Mike Hagar on guitar, and "Money" Monty Johnston on keys.
Keep a "look-out" around Charlotte and catch this band in action! The high energy power trio will be dancing and singing the hits from the 70's to today - from Etta James and Temptations to Bruno Mars and Lizzo! An incredible variety perfect for entertaining wedding receptions, corporate events and festivals that have audiences with a variety of ages and musical preferences.
